The most famous verse in the Bible says that God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.
“Sure,” you might say, “God loves the world. But how could he ever love me?” Why do we doubt God’s love? What keeps us from experiencing it?
I like to think of it as walking around with an umbrella when it’s perfectly sunny outside. The Bible refers to it as a veil that is over our hearts. But when we turn to the Lord, that veil is taken away.
To the non-believer this is the good news, that God has always been searching for our hearts and for that veil to be removed and then we can bask in the light.
For the believer, we tend to put this veil up in our own lives in times of uncertainty, shame, and lack of self worth.
What I urge you to do today is to put down the umbrella and bask in the perfect love that is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
