You know what’s amazing? The fact that we can communicate with people on the other side of the world in real-time. Technology has been a game changer when it comes to staying in touch with others.
But here’s a thought: Prayer is the ultimate in communication technology. Jesus has made it possible for us to have instant access to the Creator of the universe! We’re invited to draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, and we’re promised that when we do we’ll be welcomed and we’ll find help in our times of need.
Disciples of Jesus are committed to staying in touch with God through prayer.
First because Jesus has made it possible. Second because he’s invited and promised us: If we draw near to God, he will draw near to us.
Finally because he’s commanded us: “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.”
Are you a disciple of Jesus? How’s your prayer life?
