“Seek the Lord while he may be found. Call upon him while he is near.” Repentance is turning away from a life without God and starting a new life with Jesus.
Jesus began his public work with a call to action: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
One day as he was walking by the sea, he saw two fishermen at work. Jesus called out to them “Follow me.” And then he kept on walking.
The fishermen had a choice and Jesus was forcing them to make it in real time. The longer they took to decide, the further away from them Jesus moved.
The two men looked at each other and made their choice in seconds. They left their nets and followed Jesus.
If Jesus is calling you, don’t waste your opportunity. God says “At the acceptable time I listened to you and on the day of salvation I helped you.”
So what are you waiting for? “Now is the acceptable time. Today is the day of salvation.”
