If someone were to ask you, “What does repentance look like?” and they didn’t ask the pastor or the minister but they asked you, what would you say or how would you explain it?
If you have absolutely no idea that’s okay, because this is one way that you can explain repentance.
In the military one of the most famous commands is an about-face, where you literally make a 180-degree turn in a new direction. And you see that same principle in the Bible.
In the book of Acts, the people recognize who Jesus was and it says that they were pierced to the heart and they asked Peter and the brothers “What shall we do?” And he said “Repent and be baptized!”
Turn away from a life that was moving away from God and turn to a life that’s moving toward God.
And therefore if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come. And this is one way that you can explain the principle of repentance.
